Club Notes 5 – 11Nov 2007
On a busy weekend the u8 footballers beat Fingallians in Balheary, the u9 boys lost to visitors Na Fianna and the u10’s got the better of Scoil Ui Chonaill in Porterstown. The u11’s were too good for St. Sylvesters in Malahide and the u12’s drew away to Fingallians. The u13’s lost to Naomh Mearnog, the u14A’s beat visitors Clontarf and the u14B’s had a good win over Plunketts Eoghan Ruadh. On Sunday morning the u15 footballers drew with neighbours St.Brigids in Russell Park. Hard luck to our junior hurlers who lost by a point to Killurin of Offaly in the semi-final of the Leinster Junior Championship. Best of luck to Killurin in the final. Our annual Hurlathon will be played versus Erins Isle in Finglas on Saturday, December 1st. Get those cards filled! Club A.G.M on Monday next in Castleknock Hotel. All expected to attend. Good luck to all those taking part in the Co Final of Scór na nÓg on Wednesday in Craobh Chiarain starting at 7.30 p.m. Annual Race Day on Jan 20th in Fairyhouse. Club Notes 29 Oct – 4 Nov 2007
Congratulations to our ‘A’ footballers who won promotion to division 5 of the county league by virtue of their victory over Ballyboden St. Enda’s and our adult hurlers beat the Wicklow representatives Barndarrig to qualify for the semi final of the Leinster Junior hurling championship. The semi final of the Leinster Junior Hurling Championship is next Sunday.
The u7 boys welcomed Na Fianna to Tir na nog for three great games. The u8 footballers entertained St. Vincent’s in the same venue. The u9 boys played host to Clontarf, the u10’s traveled to Ballymun Kickhams and the u11 footballers played 3 games against Na Fianna.
The u12’A’s played great away to St. Sylvester’s and the u12b’s beat St.Pats of Donabate. The u13 lads played two great friendly’s versus Confey in hurling and Dunboyne in football. The u14A game was off and the u14B’s lost to a good Robert Emmett’s side. On Sunday the u15 footballers had a fine win away to St. Maurs.
Well done to the U12 division girls who beat St. Sylvester’s. This means that they finish runners up in both League and Championship. Good luck to all those taking part in Scór na nÓg on behalf of the Club this Tuesday night in St. Mark’s GAA Club in Tallaght. All tickets are sold for the much anticipated Christmas party which will be in The Castleknock Hotel. Big game this Sunday for the Junior A Footballers in the final league game against Ballyboden in Ballycullen at 11:00 am. Please come along and support. The under 14B panel played host to Eire Og from Belfast at the weekend. Eire Og is based in South Belfast based in Dunmurray. Well done to Michael Wylie for organising the game. The annual Hurlathon is again being hosted in Erins Isle on Sunday 25th November. Contact Johnny Corcoran for details. The Club AGM is being held in the Castleknock Hotel & Country Club on Monday 19th November ay 7:30pm. All members are asked to attend. Club Notes 15 – 21 Oct 2007
Hard luck to the U15 footballers who lost to Lucan Sarsfields in the ‘B’ Championship final on Sunday. Also to the Minor boys who lost to a Fingal selection in the Hurling Championship. Our Junior A footballers are set for a final game showdown against Ballyboden after our win over visitors Bank of Ireland. The last game is fixed for Sunday week. The U8 footballers traveled to Erin’s Isle, the U9s to Plunketts, the U10s to Trinity Gaels and the U11s to Whitehall and Rush. Twelve games were played between those fixtures. The U12s beat Clontarf and the -14s beat Ballinteer St. John away. Well done to the U16 Girls who beat Cuala in the Shield Final. Congrats to the 4 Dublin lads who won All-Stars on Friday evening. The John Locke’s Hurling Club of Callan, Co. Kilkenny who were our hosts during Feile, are provisionally penciled in for a weekend visit on Nov. 17th. No winner of last week’s lotto in The Carpenter, this week’s draw is in The Bell, top prize of €15,000.

On a busy weekend the U8 hurlers played Fingallians in three fine games, and the U9s traveled to Ellanfield to play Whitehall, also in three games. Our U10 boys also tackled Whitehall Colmcille. The U11 hurlers played Bray Emmetts in Old Conna, Bray and the U12As game was off. The U12Bs had a good victory over visitors Craobh Chiarain. The U13s beat Clontarf and the U14A boys turned on the style to overpower Kilmacud As in their final league game. Next Sunday, the U15 footballers play their Championship final versus Lucan Sarsfield and the Junior A footballers have a crucial league game versus Bank of Ireland. All support welcome. Deepest condolences to Donal Cunningham on the death of his father Michael, and to the Uzunof family on the death of brave young Stefan. Hard luck to the U12A girls who lost the Championship final versus Ballyboden St. Endas, and to the U15 girls who lost to Croi Rs Naofa. On Saturday morning in Porterstown visitors Clontarf and our u11 boys played great football with three separate groups. Well done to both sets of mentors. The u13b’s played heroically before losing to Cuala and the u12b’s were too strong for Naomh Barrog. Well done to the U14A footballers who are un-catch able in division 1 after their win over Na Fianna. This is another milestone in our development. On Sunday the gallant u14b hurlers lost their shield final to Raheny. These boys have put in a great years work. The u15 footballers played a great second half against Whitehall to qualify for the county final. The u16 hurlers were somewhat unlucky to lose to Na Fianna on Sunday in the semi final replay of the championship. Our Junior ‘B’ footballers lost to Parnell’s in a crucial league game on Sunday evening. Remember, get those registrations in A.S.A.P. There’s juvenile training every Saturday morning in Tir na nÓg, beside Castleknock Community College, at 10.00 am. Get your tickets for the upcoming cooking exhibition and Christmas Party now. We offer our condolences to the family of the late Mick Holden, the great Cuala hurler and footballer who was buried last Saturday. The u8 hurlers traveled to Blakestown and played a great series of games against hosts St. Peregrines. The u9’s tackled Scoil Ui Chonaill and the u10’s played Clontarf and Faughs. St.Brigids were the visitors to Porterstown where two great games were played. On Saturday afternoon our u16 hurlers drew with Na Fianna in the championship semi final, on a score-line of Castleknock 1-13, Na Fianna 0-16. Faythe Harriers of Wexford played our u14 ‘A’ boys in a fine friendly on Sunday. The u14 ‘B’ footballers played a friendly away to Clontarf. The U12 Girls Division 2 team beat Skerries in the shield and the Div 1 team beat Kilmacud in the championship semi-final. It’s time to start preparing for Scór na nÓg, so if you are under 17 contact Barbara O’Neill at 086 3782419 or barbaraoneill@eircom.net. We are looking for people to take part in Céilí Dancing, Solo Singing, Instrumental traditional music, Recitation, Novelty Act, Quiz, Set Dancing and Ballad Group. Hard luck to Donal and the Junior B Footballers who piped at the post by St. Vincents in the Junior Championship final in a thrilling match in Parnell Park.
The U15 boys had a great win over Nh Fionnbarra in the quarter final of the championship. The U14A’s beat St Sylvester’s, U13A beat St Oliver Plunketts and the U13B’s beat St Jude’s. The U11A’s lost to St Sylvester’s, while the 11B’s beat St Sylvester’s and U11C’s beat Garristown Both U10 teams beat Erin’s Isle. The U12a girls who had a comprehensive win over Lusk/ St. Margaret’s in the division 1 league during the week. Tickets are now on sale for our Cookery Demonstration night on Monday 22nd Oct. Proceeds will be used to purchase two defibrillators. Christmas Party (Sat 24th November) tickets also on sale. Club Notes 10 – 16 Sept 2007
On a busy weekend on the hurling front, the U16 boys scored a 10 point victory away to St. Marks, but unfortunately our U14As lost to Ballyboden in the Championship. The U13s had a fine semi-final victory over St. Vincent’s in the shield, but the U12 lads lost to Kilmacud Crokes. The U11s traveled to Dalkey and lost one and won the other of a double bill. The U10s were too good for Scoil Ui Chonaill, and the U9 boys had good wins over Skerries, Naomh Olaf and Bray Emmetts. Next Sunday 23rd Sept. our Junior B footballers tackle St. Vincent’s in the Championship Final in Parnell Park. Throw in at 2:15. Please come along and support the team. Club Notes 3 – 9 Sept 2007
The Junior ‘A’ footballers went a long way towards promotion with two good wins in the past week. On Tuesday last they beat Plunketts Eoghan Ruadh helped by a great performance by Stephen Lynch and on Sunday Thomas Corcoran scored 3-5 in a fine win over Clontarf. Hard luck to Con O’Gorman and our adult ladies who lost to St.Margarets in the championship final in The Naul.
The u12 ‘A’ hurlers drew with Na Fianna and the u12 ‘B’s lost to St.Finians after a great game. There was a good victory for the u11 footballers over St.Vincents but the u12’A’ footballers lost to St.Brigids.
The u13 ‘A’s beat Clontarf and the u13 ‘B’s had a fine win over Naomh Mearnog. In the 14’A’ championship our first team were too good for Clontarf and the B’s had a bye. The u15 lads got the better of visitors St.Brigids in the juvenile football championship. On Saturday the u16 lads lost to visitors Thomas Davis.
Hard luck to the Dublin u21 hurlers and well done to the juvenile committee who brought a group of kids to Croker. There was no winner of this weeks lotto which was in Myo’s. Thursdays draw will be in Brady’s with a top prize of 15,000 euro.
Club Notes 27 Aug – 2 Sept 2007
Well done to the Junior ‘B’ footballers who beat St.Pats of Donabate to qualify for the county final. Also to our ladies who got the better of a spirited Bohernabreena outfit to book a spot in the final which is on this Wednesday in the Naul at 7pm. There were good wins for our u10, u14, and u16 hurlers. On Saturday the u9 hurlers drew their two games with Skerries and the u11 boys won one and lost one against Kilmacud Crokes. Our u12 hurlers beat St.Vincents ‘A’ in the camaint semi-final and then accounted for a gallant St.Brigids in the final. The u13’s lost to Cuala but the u14 A’s recorded a great win against Lucan Sarsfields.The u16’s bet Thomas Davis in the championship, and the u15 footballers scored a fine victory away to Clontarf. Best of luck to injured players Dave Sweeney and Conor Corcoran. This Tuesday evening the adult ‘A’ footballers entertain Plunketts in an important league game in Porterstown. Well done to Shane Boland, John Conroy, Ross Mullins, Ciaran Kilkenny, Ian Cleary, and Conor Prunty who played for Dublin in the Tony Forristal U14 hurling tournament. There was no winner of Thursday’s lotto which was in The Carpenter. This weeks draw will be in The Bell with a top prize of 15,000 euro.
Club Notes 13 – 19 August 2007
Tir na n-og resumes next Saturday morning at 10.00, and also hurling training in Laurel Lodge on Sunday morning also at 10.00am. Well done to the u11 hurling group who completed brilliantly in the final stages of the camaint in Parnell Park. The ‘B’ side beat a gallant O’Tooles in their final and the ‘A’s were pipped by Whitehall Colmcille after a great division one final.
The hurling school of excellence is on this week in Coolmine and the second football camp is in full swing in Tir na n-og.
On Thursday our u15 hurlers are playing St. Brigids in the championship in Porterstown. Throw in is at 7.00pm. On Friday evening our second adult footballers are playing St.Pats of Donabate in the semi final of the ‘D’ championship.Throw in is at 7.00pm. All support welcome for both games.
There will be a juvenile meeting at 9.30pm on Thursday.

Well done to the Dublin footballers and we all look forward to the clash versus the old foes Kerry. Best of luck to the u21 hurlers who are playing in the semi-final next weekend.
The u11 camaint finals take place this Saturday in Parnell Park. We have a team in division 1 and division 4.
This week our second hurling camp is in action and next Monday the second football camp will be in full swing.
Its great to see the teams getting back into action.

Hard luck to Collie Carr and the Dublin U16 footballers who were beaten in the Gerry Reilly Memorial tournament final in Oldcastle on Sunday night.
U11 hurlers played three good matches at the weekend in the Camaint tournament. The U12 hurlers drew with Lucan after a great game.

Hurling Summer camp went well last week despite the inclement weather. The first football camp starts this week.
The U10, U11 & U12 hurling camaint is proving very popular and all teams going well. There is another list of fixtures for Tues/Wed.
U12 hurlers were disappointed when the great Alan Creegan tournament was cancelled. Hopefully Erin’s Isle will stage it at a later date. The U8 and U9 footballers played their first inter-county game when they entertained Clonmore of Carlow at Tir na nÓg on Sunday morning.
Well done to the Dublin footballers who claimed their third Leinster title in a row. Commiserations to Aislish McKenna and Deborah Gerathy who played on the Dublin minor football who were beaten by Cork in the All-Ireland final. Best of luck to the Dublin U21 hurlers who play Offaly in the Leinster final in Parnell Park.
The Junior A footballers got back to winning ways with a victory over visitors Templeogue. The Junior Hurlers play Ballyboden St. Enda’s in Porterstown this Tuesday evening at 7.30.

Our two adult teams had good wins in football on Sunday. Hard luck to our adult hurlers lost their Championship Junior A semi-final.
U14/15s played an entertaining challenge against Kilmacow, Co Kilkenny on Sunday morning. Juvenile meetings are finished until mid August.
Well done to Raheny on getting to the Football Féile final. Congrats to the Dublin Minor Hurlers.
Condolences to the family of John Egan who died tragically at the weekend. John was a great support to us in setting up our club.

As a result of our national Feile win, we have received messages of goodwill and congratulations from clubs all over the country. On behalf of all concerned, we take this opportunity to thank them for these kind regards.
The u8 boys played two good games versus St.Peregrines and the u9 footballers entertained St. Oliver Plunketts Eoghan Ruadh. The u10’s traveled to O’Toole’s and the u11’s played two great games against visitors Whitehall Colmcilles. The u12 A’s had a bye and the B’s traveled to Craobh Chiarain. The u14 A’s game against St.Brigids was postponed and the B team lost away to St.Marks.
The u15 footballers lost to St.Anne’s, and the u16 hurlers had a fine two point victory over Fughs.
The junior hurling championship game against Faughs was canceled. Watch the paper for re-fixture.
This Tuesday evening our junior A footballers travel to Thomas Davis to play a crucial league game and the B team entertain Croi Ro Naofa in a replay of their second round game.
Well done to the Dublin senior footballers, the u21 hurlers and the minor hurlers who all reached the Leinster final in the past week.

Club Notes 11-17 June 2007
A thousand people welcomed home our U14 Féile hero’s back to Tir na nÓg after their magnificent victory in the All-Ireland Féile Hurling Final. Along the way Castleknock beat John Lockes, Graigue-Ballycallan, Ballyea, Blackrock of Cork in the quarter final, Offaly champions St Rynaghs in the semi-final and Ahane of Limerick in the All Ireland final.
There are too many people to mention or thank as this was an accumulation of a fantastic Club effort. We would like to express our appreciation to John Lockes of Callan especially Bosco Byran, who were our magnificent hosts for the weekend. Thanks also to John Costello from Dublin County board who welcomed the team back to Castleknock.
Our Junior Hurlers beat Lucan in the league and play Faughs in the Junior A semi-final this Friday in O’Toole Park.. Hard luck to our Junior footballers who were beaten by Whitehall Colmcille in the Junior A championship. Our Junior Hurlers scored a great victory in the Junior A Championship quarter-final against Ballyboden. Final score Castleknock 1-13 Ballyboden 1-12. The semi-final is fixed for Sunday week. This Sunday 17th June, Junior A Championship football against Whitehall in Cloghran and Junior B against Croi Ro Naofa in Killinarden Park. Support welcome.
The U14B footballers put in a terrific display before losing to Man-O-War in the semi-final of the championship. These lads still have a great chance of winning the league.
The under8 footballers lost to Plunketts, the under9’s drew with the same opposition. The under10’s beat Craobh Chiaran and the under11’s lost to Clontarf in St. Annes. The under13 hurlers beat Lucan, and the under14A Hurlers drew with Sarsfields in there last run out before next weekend’s feile.
The best of luck from all in Castleknock to our U14 hurlers who are competing in Div 1 of the All-Ireland feile in Kilkenny next weekend. Congratulations and best wishes also to Ciaran Kilkenny who is representing Dublin in the All-Ireland skills final. Congratulations to Scoil Thomais Senior Boys Football team and also their Senior Girls Football team who pulled off a brilliant double of victories in the Cumann na mBunscoil finals. The backbone of both these teams are members of Castleknock Hurling and Football Club from our U11, U12 and U13 panels.
Very important Junior hurling Championship playoff v Good Councel in Erins Isle this Tuesday evening at 7.30. Support welcome. Goods wins for both Junior football teams in their leagues during the week.

Well done to the U12B hurlers who beat St. Peregrines in their section final of the league. The U13 hurlers had a good win over Ballinteer St. John’s and the U14As had a big win over Ballyboden St. Enda’s. The U14B hurlers went down to Raheny. The U10 boys traveled to Clontarf where they drew with the Scoil Um Chonaill hurlers.
A late surge of scores was enough to get our Junior A footballers over a determined Civil Service team in the first round of the Championship, played in Islandbridge. This Tueday evening in Porterstown, they play St. Finians of Swords in the League. On Thursday, the second team travel to play St. Mark’s of Tallaght.
The Junior hurlers were unlucky to lose away to Good Counsel in the Championship, but are still not out of the hunt.
A table quiz is being held this Tuesday night in the Carpenter to raise funds for the U14 Féile finals in Kilkenny. Teams of four. Starting at 9pm.

Dual star Mick Stokes scored 3 goals in the first 7 minutes of the Junior’ B championship clash away to Ballyfermot De La Salle to secure a comprehensive victory in the first round. This Tuesday evening Willie Brennan’s Junior A footballers play Civil Service in the first round of the ‘A’ championship and the hurlers play Good Counsel in Good Counsel in their ‘A’ championship match. All members are asked to make an effort to support these team in large numbers.
The U10 footballers won one and lost one away to St. Sylvester’s. The U11 hurlers had 2 wins over visitors Erin’s Isle, and the U12 s had a good win in a challenge against Lucan Sarsfields. Both U13 football teams lost out in the championship against Kilmacud and Na Fianna. The U15 footballers were beaten at home to Lucan Sarsfields, and the U16 footballers also lost their game, away to Plunketts. On Sunday the U11 footballers drew with visitors Dunboyne after a great game of football.
There was no winner of last week’s lotto in Myo’s. This Thursday’s draw will be in Brady’s with a Jackpot prize of €13,200.

Club Notes 7-13 May 2007
Another chapter was written in our short history when Castleknock captured the Feile na nGael hurling Division 1 final in Parnell Park, when they defeated Ballyboden St Enda’s 1-8 to 3-1. On the way they beat Lucan, Kilmacud and St. Brigids. As well as securing the title, Ciaran Kilkenny was picked to represent Dublin in the All-Ireland skills competition. Our U14b’s performed heroically but didn’t make it through in the Div 5 section. Congrats to all concerned for a memorable weekend.
Well done to Donal Cunningham and his Junior B team who beat neighbours St. Brigids in the Duffy cup final during the week. Best of luck to these lads in the Junior Championship on Sunday v Ballyfermot in Ballyfermot at 3pm.
Hard luck to our Junior Hurlers who were beaten by St. Sylvesters at the weekend.

The Minor Hurlers had a good win over Scoil Ui Chonaill and the Junior B footballers had a fine win over Good Councel in the football league. U8 hurlers lost by a point to Skerries. U9 beat O’Tooles. U10’s were too good for Raheny & U11 boys had a bye. U12A hurlers had a good win over Ballyboden A’s and the U13 had a walkover. U14a beat Na Fianna and the B’s had another fine win over St Margaret’s. The U16 hurlers were piped by Kevins hurling club.
May thanks to St Anne’s of Bohernabreena who were excellent hosts to our U14bs during the football Féile.
Next weekend Castleknock host Division 1 of the Hurling Féile in Porterstown. All hands on deck and the best of luck to our teams.

Its 9 years since our club entered county competitions and last weekend was as memorable as it gets.
Tir no nOg hosted a brilliant U8 and U9 inter-provincial tournament on Saturday morning – well done to all involved.
We had 2 U14 teams compete in Feile Peil na nOg over the weekend and both covered themselves in glory.Our U14Bs played heroically and just failed to qualify with our U14As losing to Raheny in a super final,on the way they took the scalps of Cuala A,Lucan A and Ballymun in the semi final.Well done to Michael Wylie, Nick Boland, John Kilkenny, and all parents and supporters. We look forward to the hurling Feile.
Our Junior hurlers got back into Championship contention by beating Naomh Barrog and our Junior B footballers qualified for the Duffy Cup finalwith a win over Na Dubh Ghall.
On the Juvenile football front our U10s had a great win over Skerries,our U11s beat St Brigids and our U13Bs beat Lucan Sarsfields.

The Junior ‘A’ footballers made it four wins on the trot in this year’s league with a hard fought win over O’Toole’s. The Junior ‘B’ lads went down to Round Towers of Clondalkin by two points. The Junior Hurlers’ training continues on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7.30 p.m. in Porterstown.
The Minor Hurlers got a walkover from St. Monica’s in the Championship.
The u8 hurlers lost to Na Fianna. The u9 hurlers beat Naomh Barróg away. The u11s lost to Faughs and the u12As beat St. Brigids. The u13 boys beat Naomh Mearnóg and the u14B footballers went down to St. Pats of Palmerstown, while the u14A hurlers beat St. Brigids in Portestown.
Well done to the Camogie girls with wins for the U10’s v Naomh Barrog, the U11’s v Setanta and the U12 v Raheny. Credit to Fergal Quinn & Jim O’Mahony for their hard work.

On Saturday last our U8 boys entertained Na Fianna in Tir na nÓg and the U9 footballers got the better of St. Brigids in Russell Park. The U10’s drew with Ballymun Kickhams and our U11’s beat St. Sylvester’s. The U12b’s had a great win over Naomh Barrog and the U13 hurlers had 4 points to spare over Oliver Plunketts ER. On Saturday afternoon the U16 hurlers beat Cuala.
The Junior hurlers lost to St. Judes by a goal in the A championship on Sunday. The Junior B footballers were too good for Liffey Gaels.
Condolences to the O’Callaghan Family on the death of Dermot’s father Michael and to the Kilkenny family on the death of John’s mother Brigid.

The Junior hurlers started their league campaign with a good away vicyory over Lucan Sarsfields.The Junior ‘A’ footballers lost in Kilbarrack to the local lads in a good cup game and the B’s travelled to Brittas where they beat St.Martins.
The u15 footballers beat St.Maurs and the u14A’s beat Balinteer St.Johns.The u14 B’s also had a good win away to Naomh Barrog.The u13A’s lost at home to Whitehall Colmcilles.
On the juvenile hurling front,the u8’s lost to Crokes,the u9’s won one and lost one versus Sylvesters and the u10’s shared the spoils with Skerries.The u11 group won one and lost one versus Cuala and both u12 teams won at the expense of St.Maurs and Beann Eadair of Howth.

Club Notes 19 – 25 March 2007
Tir na Nóg was hopping on Saturday morning when St. Peregrines arrived to challenge our U7 boys in their first competitive football games. Well done to both clubs who contributed to a great morning’s football.
The U8 boys travelled to Russell Park and got the better of hosts St. Brigids. The U9s beat Raheny in Porterstown after a top class competition and the U10 footballers were too strong for Craobh Ciaráin. The U11s played Clontarf in three fine matches and came out on the winning side. The U12A v St. Sylvesters was off and the U12Bs drew with St. Brigids.
The U13A hurlers won a fine open game v Lucan Sarsfields and the U14As also tackled and beat Lucan “A”s.
On Sunday morning our young minor hurlers played some nice stuff to beat hosts Thomas Davis.
The Junior “A” footballers recorded two out of two league victories with a win over Starlights, and the “B”s beat Croí ró Naofa away also, to maintain a 100% record.
The Junior “A” hurlers opened their campaign with a tidy victory over visitors O’Dwyers.
Well done to our Under 12A Girls who beat St. Sylvester’e 4-7 to 3-3 on Sunday.

Club Notes 5 -11 March 2007
Both adult football teams started their league campaigns with good wins. Ger O’Brien scored a great late goal to give our lads a deserved victory over hosts Parnells, and in Porterstown the second team were too strong for neighbours St. Peregines. The minor hurlers lost to visitors Cuala after a fine game, and the -16 footballers lost away to Raheny. Also on Sunday the-15s were unlucky to lose to Clontarf.
On Saturday the u8 hurlers got the better of Erin’s Isle and the u9 hurlers beat Sylvesters. The u11s drew one and lost one to Lucan. The u12As had a great 2-6 to 2-2 victory away to Cuala and the ‘Bs’ lost to Scoil uí Chonaill. The u13As beat Naomh Barrog and the ‘Bs’ beat Good Counsel. The u14A footballers had a busy weekend defeating Na Fianna in the league on Saturday, and traveling to Armagh on Sunday where they beat the famous Crossmaglen Rangers.

Club Notes 26 Feb – 4 Mar 2007
On a weather curtailed week-end, with Porterstown unplayable, Tir na Nog came to the rescue once again. Skerries Harps were the visitors and they played 4 good games against our U8s. The U10, U11As, Bs & Cs were all cancelled. Fingallians beat our U12As 4-8 to 2-7 and the U12Bs had a great win 7-5 to 6-3 against St. Vincents. The U13A & B games also lost out.
In the U14A hurling league away to Ballyboden, Conor Prunty produced a great performance at full back to inspire our boys to a fine victory.
Our first adult football team lost by a point away to St. Pats of Donabate in the cup. The league starts next Sunday with an away fixture against Parnells.
Congratulations to our great ballad group who won the semi-final of Scór Sinsear in Leixlip on Sunday night, and are performing in the Leinster final in Taghmon, Co. Wexford on 24th March. Thanks to Barbara O’Neill for all the hard work.

Our 6th annual Spring Ball was its usual great success. Well done to all concerned -committee, special guests, local celebs, friends, club members and of course M.C. John Conway, who along with the great Nicky English kept the ball rolling.
Footballer of the tear was Paddy Molloy, and hurler of the year was Ciaran Callighy. Congrats again to our adult hurlers and footballers who were presented with their championship and league winners medals.
The U12A hurlers travelled to Dalkey and had a great one point victory over Cuala. The U13A footballers were too good for Erin’s Isle and the ‘B’s got the better of Na Fianna. The U14As beat St. Sylvesters where Kevin Kindlon was in super form, and the U14Bs got a walkover. The U16 footballers put it up to St. Sylvesters in championship, before losing out on a scoreline of 2-13 to 1-10.
Adult A team lost to Scoil Uí Chonaill, while Adult B team beat Ballyfermot.

Well done to the Naomh Fionnbarra Club who ran a fabulous U14 hurling tournament over the last few weeks. At the finish our boys were worthy winners of the Gerry Keogh Cup. As well as the medals they also received a beautiful set of hurleys. Seven of this group have been picked for the County College Team. The U14B footballers had a good win in St. Anne’s over Raheny.
Hard luck to the U11A boys were beaten by St. Vincent’s in the deferred U10A Football Cup final from last year.
