Adult Update
Hard luck to the second team hurlers who lost out to St. Jude’s in the Junior D Hurling Championship Final in O’Toole Park on Sunday. Despite the loss though, it is still a very successful year for the team, who won the league and have gained promotion to DIvision 7 for next year.

All attention now turns to the Junior A Hurling Final next Saturday, also in O’Toole Park, when the lads take on Lucan Sarsfields. Throw-in is at 14:30, and all support is welcome as always!

Camogie Update

A great weekend for Castleknock camogie saw us competing in 3 finals. The U14 Division 1 Championship final on Saturday saw our girls put in a brilliant performance against their rivals Lucan but just came up short in the end. No doubt their day is coming soon!
Sunday morning was an early start for our U13 girls in the Shield final who like their U14 compatriots faced a Lucan side with just too much for our girls on the day. The weekend was rounded off with a great performance by our U15 girls in a highly competitive Division 2 Championship final.  The girls battled back from a slow start to take the lead and then lose narrowly by 1 point. Well done to team captain Claire Murray on winning Player of the Match. Despite the losses there were huge performances by all the teams this weekend so well done to all!

Juvenile Update

Well done to the U12 Boys footballers at the weekend who beat St. Margarets today to win the league. There was also success for the U13 boys, who went top of the league with one game to play, and also to the U15 B footballers, who have booked their place in the Championship Final.

The Sam Maguire will pay another visit to Somerton this Tuesday from 7-9pm after the great day had by everyone on Saturday. Ciarán will also be there. THe club would also like to thank everyone who contributed to the success of the Bake Sale on Saturday, which will sponsor the upcoming Strictly Dancing Experience. TIckets for the Friday night are now on sale, with full detail up on the website. There have a number of thefts in Somerton this week, and cars broken into, so we would ask that everyone please be extra vigilant, and not to bring any unnecessary valuables to training or matches.

Congratulations to Derek Keenan, who won this week’s Lotto Jackpot of €5600.

The club would also like to send their best wishes to John O’Brien, one of the Adult Hurlers, who married Ciara in the Castleknock Hotel last Thursday.
