About Us
Castleknock Hurling and Football Club
Castleknock Hurling and Football Club was founded in 1998 in the Carpenterstown / Castleknock / Clonsilla area of Dublin 15. We play host to Gaelic Football, Hurling, Ladies Football and Camogie, from the age of 4 upwards.
Since our inception, we have had many on the field successes across all codes, from Dublin and Leinster Championships, League and Championship successes at all levels, and All Ireland Féile Championships. We also pride ourselves in our off the pitch successes, in supporting our club, our members, and our wider community, taking seriously our club motto of Le Chéile.
New members are always welcome to join us.
Our Nursery is running every Saturday morning in Tír na nÓg (park beside Castleknock Community College).
Our home ground is Somerton Park, which is located next door to the Castleknock Hotel. Here we have two senior pitches, one of which is floodlit, a juvenile pitch, an all-weather section and a hurling wall. Due to the tremendous efforts of our extended grounds team, we are looking forward to opening our new training space, in 2021.
We are delighted to also have additional pitches in Porterstown Park, St Catherine’s Park, and Tír na nÓg, providing us with much needed and respected, home pitches and training facilities.
We would like to express our thanks to Fingal County Council for their ongoing support in providing much needed training and playing facilities.
We currently have a membership of 3,500, with multiple teams playing all codes, across the age-groups:
- 39 Juvenile Boys Gaelic football and 35 Juvenile Hurling teams
- 27 Juvenile Girls Ladies football and 25 Juvenile Camogie teams
- 5 Adult Ladies Football and 5 Adult Camogie teams
- 9 Adult Men’s Gaelic football and 8 Adult Men’s Hurling teams
Our fabulous nursery currently caters for 450 girls and boys, from age 4 – 8, every Saturday.
While we have been fortunate in having lots of representation on Dublin inter-county squads, we currently have 2 club members on Dublin Senior panels, in Men’s Gaelic Football, and in Camogie.
