Shane Curran Clubhouse Talk – Coaching the Modern Goalkeeper
Wednesday 27 April 7.15pm
Somerton

Roscommon Goalkeeping legend Shane Curran is giving a talk in Somerton Clubhouse on Wednesday 27 April at 7.15pm sharing his insights on coaching the modern Goalkeeper.

As the game evolves so too does the role of the keeper.  Curran believes the key to the future is evolving and developing the perceptual coaching and thinking of the goalkeeper.  Curran takes a holistic view to the goalkeeper, stressing the importance of developing the Goalkeepers mental skills and recognises the leadership role a goalkeeper plays on a team.  Curran believes how Goalkeepers are guided to improve has a direct impact on team outcomes.

Coaches, Mentors, Club Goalkeepers at all levels, parents of underage GK’s, anyone interested in goalkeeping, or the game of football are invited to attend.

The Hoganstand described Curran as “the prototype of the modern playmaking goalkeeper”.

Joe.ie – “The man has a brilliant view on the game.  Cake plays a great game, and he arguably talks an even better one.  He knows Gaelic football inside out and has a refreshing outlook on the sport”.

Christy O’Connor February 2022 in the Irish Examiner said, “Curran was a pioneering mind with the personality to try something different – The Original Maverick”.
