Junior A Football vs Erins Isle
Sun, 29th February 2004
Result: 3-22 to 0-2
A facile win for the Castleknock lads against Erins Isle in the League last Sunday. They got off to a quick start with Barry Farrelly and Brendan Kiely notching a few points before Dominic got in for a goal. Shortly afterwards, a long ball from midfield released the Legend and he also made no mistake finding the net. Dec Reilly and Sam in particular in the back line were thwarting a lot of the Isles attacks and breaking forward to support the forwards.
Castleknock’s fitness told in the second half as some good running off the ball and quick passing resulted in numerous scoring chances although not all were taken. Brendan Kiely slotted over numerous frees and Patsy got in for a second goal after a superb ball from Conal McBrearty. The Isles lads’ heads dropped after this and in the end, Castleknock ran in easy winners.
