Junior A Football vs Lucan Sarsfields
Sun, 27th November 2005

Result: 1-13 to 1-10

A closely fought late November encounter in Lucan saw Castleknock grabbing victory once again from the jaws of defeat. The Knock started well with a few flowing moves up the pitch being rewarded with well taken points, one in particular from the comeback kid, David Leyden. With ten minutes on the clock the experienced Paddy Molloy found Liam Kinucane behind his marker and the corner forward slotted coolly to the back of the net. Lucan kept tagging on the points and at half time there was only two points separating the teams, 1-5 to 0-6. The second half started badly for the Knock with a high ball being palmed to the net by the big full forward despite the best efforts of Denis Lally and Eoin O’Baoil. With ten minutes left on the clock the Knock dug in earning vital ball in midfield with Eoghan O’Callaghan and Man of the Match Paddy O’Brien dominant. The forwards converted enough chances with late points from John Greene, Paddy Molloy and Niall Tutty sealing the win. The playoffs beckon now and December football will be played meaning the lads will have to hold off a little longer and “mind themselves” before the Christmas festivities truly get going.
