Castleknock 2-12 Man O War 2-12
The Junior B Champions returned to Division 7 League Action and earned a point in the faraway fields of north county Dublin far removed from the glamour of Parnell Park. Due to flight cancellations and fedex unreliability the normal words of wisdom were not forthcoming from the magic book and so a slow start was made by the Knock. The Man O War attack was firing on all cylinders and their number eight was slotting over some excellent frees. The Knock’s normally reliable decisive defence was a little shaky early on and two goals were conceded while the Knock attack could only manage two points before the break. Some surprisingly stern words were spoken by the normally calm and controlled stand-in manager, which seemed to inspire the Knock in the second half. It wasn’t pretty or easy for the travelling faithful to watch but in the end two splendid goals from the man of the moment, Rory Corcoran ensured that the Knock escaped from the hills with a point.
