Dear Member,

I am writing to advise that the Executive Committee of Castleknock Hurling and Football Club has completed detailed planning and analysis for the provision of a gym facility in Somerton. Extensive benchmarking has been completed with other clubs to assess the best way forward to deliver this facility. After taking account of the funding available and considering the timing of the delivery of the project the Executive Committee is proposing the installation and building of a state of the art 135m2 gym on the first floor of the clubhouse dividing the existing social space. This was part of the original planning permission for the Clubhouse and Dressing rooms in 2017.

The Executive Committee would ask you to make a special effort to attend a ‘Special General Meeting on Friday 4 October 2024 in the Clubhouse @ 8.30pm‘. This is a single item meeting and should the motion get approved, commencement of this project would proceed in Q4’24 and the gym would be operational in early 2025. Based on feedback from club members this is an important facility to put in place to allow the continued development of our players.

We can now deliver this next phase of our continued development in Somerton.
