It was a great pleasure to welcome St Michael’s U14 boys to Somerton Park for a day of football, fun and community spirit.

St Michael’s GAA brings the two communities of Creeslough and Dunfanaghy together and has had many famous inter county stars in its teams over the years. One past player with the club is the father of our club member, Joanne Dawson.

Joanne and Niall extended the invitation to St Michael’s to come and visit us which they greatly accepted. Alongside numerous sponsors on the day The McGinley Foundation kindly sponsored the hotel accommodation and evening meal which enabled the families of the team to travel for the day also. Our neighbours, The Castleknock Hotel and The Vue Restaurant provided the food and accommodation for our guests and Cafe Sol and The Irish Prison Service provided our in-house catering in our clubhouse for everybody attending Somerton on the day.

We would like to thank everybody who came today and supported our day, in particular all our sponsors. Thanks also to our club executive and all the members of the club who assisted us in bringing this day to fruition.

We wish both teams all the very best for the future and look forward to meeting again soon.
